SCREENTASMANIA"We are currently undergoing a review of our Investment Guidelines so your request asking us to consider partnering with private philanthropic organisations in Australian documentary is timely and appropriate. In principle Screen Tasmania would endorse such an initiative on a case by case basis, and where the private partner contribution was in the form of a grant. We would also strongly encourage marketplace participation in order to ensure an end user for a program where possible. We understand the rationale for this initiative, as we acknowledge that documentary often places a spotlight on social issues and can become an advocate for change. Such an initiative would allow an expansion of the work of passionate filmmakers working in an environment of ever diminishing funding and resources. Please keep us advised of your progress with this very exciting initiative." Karena Slaninka, Director, Screen Tasmania |
