American Documentary Inc. is a non-profit multi-media company exploring the potential of independent media in public life. One of its projects is P.O.V. (Point of View) ,the longest-running showcase for independent point-of-view documentary on television. P.O.V. presents 14-16 outstanding premieres annually on PBS. The shows are designed to trigger energetic viewer feedback through mechanisms such as P.O.V. Interactive and P.O.V.'s Community Engagement and Education campaigns.

 

The Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers

AIVF is a 30-year old national trade association based in New York City, providing support to individual media artists and producers. Established by a group of independent filmmakers, AIVF is the largest national organization representing independent media artists working at all levels across all genres. AIVF members number over five thousand individuals (from students to Academy Award winners) and 350 businesses across the country.
OUR MISSION: to increase the creative and professional opportunities for independent video and filmmakers and to enhance the growth of independent media by providing services, advocacy, and information.

The Documentary Filmmakers Group - DFG - is a comprehensive resource for documentary filming and has been running since 2001, operating as a non-profit organisation.
