APPLY TO GET ON THE APPROVED LIST FOR A GRANT

IMPORTANT: This application is for your project to get on the Approved List of the Documentary Australia Foundation. This is only the first step in your quest to find funding. Being on the Approved List allows a Grantmaker to give you money, but it is up to you to find that Grantmaker.

THE PROCESS

  1. Answer all the questions in the application form. Your answers can be the basis for your grant applications to foundations and corporate or individual donors for funding. Your application will not be considered unless you answer ALL questions.
  2. Applicants will receive a written confirmation by email upon receipt of their application.
  3. The Board of the Documentary Australia Foundation will assess all applications and place eligible proposals on the Documentary Australia Foundation Approved List.
  4. All applicants will be notified in writing. Applications may take up to three months to process depending on the Board’s meeting schedule.
  5. Approved projects will be listed on the website.
  6. Filmmakers who are successful in finding a Grantmaker will be required to provide the following items on completion of the film:
  • A copy of the final report submitted to the Grantmaker.
  • A DVD copy or copies of the documentary to the Foundation for each grant received.
  • A study guide, if applicable, which will be included on the Documentary Australia Foundation website.
  • A report 12 months after completion of the project.
