The Graduate Diploma in Documentary is a groundbreaking one year full time course that aims to provide the next generation documentary makers with a level of excellence in training not offered at any other national institution.

The course will be launched with a two week practical Masterclass in cinema release documentary led by leading international documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Crude, Some Kind of Monster).

The Graduate Diploma will offer a rigorous and comprehensive syllabus including modules in advanced research, interview and performance, along with large scale cross disciplinary exercises (with producing, production design, cinematography, screen music, sound, editing) in hybrid forms, observation and re-enactment. Students will be offered training in solo and large crew shoots and will complete a number of exercises in a variety of formats and styles working with a range of subjects and professional actors.

Taught by award winning practitioners, this course is aimed at those ready to make the commitment to a career in documentary and at directors looking for fresh ways of storytelling. The course will culminate in an intensive workshop focussed on the development of a slate of projects ready to take into production.
