Forged from Fire is screening across Victoria
Forged from Fire has been completed and is now screening across Victoria. We launched the film at St Andrews Hall with the St Andrews Film Society coinciding the Black Saturday memorial events. Standing ovations and generous feedback have encouraged us to have the film seen in as many rural and regional settings as feasible.

We had also collaborated with community health researchers at Swinburne University to produce a screening guide. The guide provides information for trauma-informed screenings, particularly relevant to events taking place in fire-affected communities.

I'd like to thank everyone, including the Documentary Australia Foundation, for their support in making this film possible.

Post-production crew
We've added a few more people to our post-production crew, which I might add, includes a three-day shoot to wrap five years of shooting. One of those days will be dedicated to our closing shot. I won't reveal much more about it now other than we've put on a Choir Director, Hanna Zreikat. Also Musical Director for our film is the composer and musician Kate Adam. Check out "People" for our crew lists as it matures.

Fundraising event draws an additional $2000
Sunday 18 June, St Andrews Hall. This was the first public screening of Garton's new film, Ocean in a Drop. The screening was a Forged from Fire fundraiser.

By midday, we had pre-sold 71 tickets. We took an additional 30 or more at the door. Some said they'd never seen the St Andrews Hall so full.

With food, wine and ticket sales we managed to raise, after costs, $2000 towards Forged from Fire's post-production costs.

We're revised our post-production budget down to AUD$50,000 and launching a public fund-raising effort in Victoria on 30 August in collaboration with the Hurstbridge Wattle Festival, the Uniting Church, the Tree Project and the Blacksmiths Association of Australia (Victoria),

We've completed a new trailer for Forged from Fire. It's comprised of archival footage and interviews shot over the past two years leading up to the completion of The Blacksmiths' Tree. Much of this footage has never been seen before. http://vimeo.com/agarton/foregedfromfire-trailer
